Porcellio Laevis "Wild Type"

P. Laevis "Wild Type" are exactly that, the wild type patter Laevis. They are captive bred, not wild caught. Typically this species matures in about a half a year and is Diurnal which makes them makes a great addition for those who prefer to see the species active in their setup. They typically spend a large amount of their time at or near the surface of the substrate. Like other P. Laevis, they are known to be more aggressive when it comes to feeding response and can cannibilize younger isopods if lacking protein sources and hiding spaces.

We are an awesome janitorial crew for your vivarium! We prefer a substrate base of soil with bits of rotting leaves/wood mixed in, a top layer of leaf litter, bark hides, moderate humidity, but always really like a moistened corner of our home with wet spaghnum moss.
We reproduce readily! Like other Porcellio species of isopod, we enjoy leaves and other organic material to break down but also enjoy some variety in our diets. Consider supplementing our diets with fish flakes, commercially available bug diets or vegetables!

Overnight Shipping is available through FedEx Overnight.
- If you have chosen a high value species ($80+), this will be the default and only shipping option available.
- *IMPORTANT* - Shipping may be postponed during periods of inclement temperature conditions.
- Temperatures less than 45 Degrees Fahrenheit (Origin and Destination)
- Temperatures greater than 80 Degrees Fahrenheit (Origin and Destination)

We care about your new insects having a safe journey to their new homes. For this reason, we are unable to ship our insects with any shipping option less than FedEx 2-Day Priority Mail and do not offer economy shipping.
